I think many people consume hundreds of calories without realizing it when they drink sugary drinks. Juice, soda, beer, energy drinks, and iced tea are a few examples of drinks with lots of sugar.

The article notes that sugary drinks are not the only thing factoring into rising obesity rates. High caloric drinks do seem to play a role though and for that reason this article is worth a read.
